Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and singer (born in the city of New York on the 22nd of November 1984) - Her versatility as an actor has garnered the world awe in everything from the dramas of the past to suspenseful films and even adventures. Johansson was born in New York City, and was raised by an father who was an architect and her mother, a producer. The twin brothers Hunter and she were the youngest siblings. By the time she was seven, her interest in acting was growing. She began to audition for commercials. Soon after she enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and then took classes at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan for further training in her craft. In the Off Broadway play Sophistry she worked with Ethan Hawke. She then made her first film appearance on screen in North (1994) which was produced by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson played the lead role on screen in Just Cause (1995), before making her big break by starring in Manny & Lo - a story about two sisters, orphans who are able to escape. For The Horse Whisperer, Johansson as a teen victim of an incredibly tragic accident. Her role in Ghost World brought her more recognition as the troubled teenager Rebecca. Smith was offered her first role at the young age of six with parents' encouragement. She was a part of a television commercial for Dannon yogurt. As many new actresses, she chose to develop her talent in theatre. While she made her on-stage debut with Wildflower she was also working with various theatre projects in the USA. She was educated at The Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
